The annual conference where medical professionals learn to maim gender-confused people is set to hit Mexico City. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s (WPATH) 29th Science Symposium will be held November 7-12. Registrants are invited to stop by the “Fiesta de Bienvenida” mixer after the choice to attend sessions including, but not limited to, “My ‘Go To’ Vulva: Tips and Tricks to Optimize Aesthetics in Primary and Revision Vaginoplasty.”

According to WPATH, the scientific symposium “is the world’s premier multidisciplinary gathering dedicated to advancing transgender and gender-diverse health through science, education, innovation, and global collaboration. Bringing together surgeons, physicians, mental health professionals, nurses, allied health providers, researchers, educators, policymakers, trainees, advocates, and community leaders from around the world, the Symposium offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn, collaborate, and shape the future of gender-affirming care.”

This comes as dozens of hospitals specializing in gender reassignment surgery have closed around the country, largely due to the efforts of the Trump administration Justice Department to stop the spread of damaging ideology and procedures — and, more specifically, the mutilation of children. Earlier this year, the Department of Health and Human Services published a report, “Wolves in White Coats: How Doctors and Hospitals Pushed and Profited from the Fraud of “Gender Medicine,” highlighting the downright abuse that is so-called “gender-affirming care.”

Walt Heyer, senior fellow at Family Research Council, told The Washington Stand that no matter how many procedures an individual suffering from gender dysphoria undergoes, one can never change his or her gender. For eight years of his life, Heyer identified as a “transgender woman,” before coming to know Jesus and realizing his God-given male identity in Christ.

“So-called gender-affirming care is only capable of devaluing, dehumanizing, and destroying young people by making them incapable of functioning as a man or woman. No one is ‘transgender;’” Heyer stated. “These gender clinic monsters believe they are gods while performing sex rejecting procedures that ultimately destroy lives. No true gender changes ever occur — it’s about the money, the hundreds of billions of dollars they make.”

The conference, “designed to be highly interactive, engaging, and participant-centered” will feature “inspiring keynote presentations by internationally recognized leaders,” as well as “concurrent scientific tracks,” “immersive hands-on learning labs,” “expert panel discussions, case-based learning, debates, workshops, mentorship programming, and one of the largest international poster exhibitions dedicated to transgender and gender-diverse health.”

Other keynote sessions offered include “My ‘Gold Standard’: Technique and Tissue Selection in Primary Vaginoplasty,” “Phalloplasty Beyond the Radial Forearm Flap: Exploring the Role of Alternative Donor Sites,” “‘How I Do It’: Clitoroplasty,” and “How I Do it’: Vaginectomy.”

Complications leading to intense physical and mental anguish are likely to arise after these life-altering procedures, something medical professionals are not always honest about. The after effects of “feminizing genital surgery” alone include “bleeding, infection, poor healing of incisions, hematoma, nerve injury, stenosis of the neovagina (when the simulated vaginal canal and/or urethra may tighten or close), inadequate depth of the neovagina, injury to the urinary tract, difficulty urinating, painful sexual intercourse, prolapse of the neovagina (when the simulated vaginal tissue protrudes outward in the patch of sensitive skin between the neovaginal opening and anus and/or the underlying structures inside your body beneath your pelvic floor), and fistula (injury to the rectum or genitourinary structures that causes an opening between the rectum and neovagina or between the urethra and neovagina),” according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

The National Library of Medicine published a 2024 report titled the “Risk of Suicide and Self-Harm Following Gender-Affirmation Surgery,” which found that individuals with gender dysphoria who undergo “gender-affirming care” are more likely to commit suicide. A study detailed in the report found that “individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not.”

The report continued, “In 2021, the Centers for Disease Control reported that 48,183 people died by suicide in the United States. Depression, substance abuse, other mental illness, legal/financial problems, harmful relationships, community risk factors, and easy access to lethal means are contributing factors to successful suicide. Transgender individuals have a higher prevalence of depression across several age groups, often due to life experiences that include discrimination, harassment, violence, misgendering, and enacted stigma that may generate poor mental health outcomes and harmful behaviors.”

“It is widely accepted that depression puts an individual at higher risk for suicidal ideation and suicide attempts,” the report went on. “Individuals at higher risk for suicide and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) should have comprehensive psychiatric interventions and care throughout their lifetime. A better understanding of the relationship between suicide and gender affirmation remains particularly important.”
