The Big Lies of the Pro-Choice Movement Have Been Exposed

June 21, 2025

The U.S. Supreme Court famously upended decades of SCOTUS precedent during the Biden administration in a ruling that sent the abortion issue back to the states. After the overturning of Roe v. Wade, pro-choice advocates and their lackeys in the media screeched that this ruling was the end of women, a swift execution of suffrage itself. Of course, this was a lie that was quickly twisted for electoral gain.

On the latest “Outstanding” podcast, we uncovered several such lies that are oft repeated in culture and the pro-choice left. Mary Szoch, director of the Center for Human Dignity at Family Research Council, joined the Outstanding podcast this week to discuss Planned Parenthood and the pro-life landscape after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Szoch pointed out that many women are fed a lie that their lives will be better after an abortion. However, assuming they survive the abortion (which sadly isn’t always the case), Szoch said they leave the abortion clinic “feeling emptier than ever.”

There are too many lies to recount on this issue, but here are a few. A chief lie in recent years is that women will be prosecuted en masse for abortions, handcuffed and thrown against police cars. Or even worse, they’ll be so fearful to seek medical treatment when pregnant that they will be dying in back alleys and hospital parking lots at unprecedented rates.

“I can't count the number of times that I heard during the election season that women will be bleeding out in their cars because they're no longer be able to receive care,” Szoch said on the podcast. “But this is just it's just a lie that that pro-abortionists are trying to push. There's not a single state in this country where a woman is going to be prosecuted for having an abortion.”

As you might have expected, however, that simply isn’t what we’re seeing in the U.S., and it never was going to happen. While many Americans do oppose abortion as the taking of innocent life, it was a powerful scare tactic on the Left used against women to drive them to the polls for Democrats.

Another lie in this debate was that women would not have access to abortion. Again, I oppose abortion, but the court did not ban abortion nationwide. In fact, Planned Parenthood’s annual reports showed it is doing more abortions than ever. The group reported more than 400,000 abortions in a single year. Those deaths are increasingly facilitated by the abortion pill which appears not as safe as many claim, yet another lie.

“The newest study on this shows that within 45 days of taking the drug, 11% of women who take it have serious adverse events … like an ER visit, like hemorrhaging, like sepsis, like the need for an operation to remove remaining fetal tissue.”

Another familiar deception from the Left is calling an unborn baby a “clump of cells,” even though we have detailed ultrasounds showing fingers, toes, and little noses, as well as scientific evidence proving that — not only does the baby feel pain — but she also has a heartbeat at an incredibly young age. Or calling an unborn baby a fetus as if that changes something when we know that fetus is simply the Latin word for “offspring.”

Lastly, there is the lie that children are not a blessing. Ever seen a movie or TV show where a young girl isn’t “ready” for a baby or fears her life will be ruined by becoming a mom? News flash: almost nobody is ready for a baby, but you figure it out as the biggest thrill of your life. We also know from Scripture that the opposite is true. The Bible directly calls children a “blessing” or “reward,” (Psalm 127:3-5) and a common theme of the Old Testament is God hearing the cry of barren women who desire children.

Even without the Scripture, experience shows us that children are a blessing. The excitement of your child when you arrive home from work is a favorite moment for parents, and every one of them knows it. The intimacy of feeding an infant is something women talk about with joy in their eyes. Have you seen a grandparent spoiling their grandkids? It’s paradise.

I guess if your conscience is tormenting you about your abortion, then you’ll believe whatever you must to ease the pain. And when others try to pull down that edifice of lies, they don’t realize it is really a fortress to protect from the pain of the truth. That’s why the pro-abortion crowd — filled with those who must keep the lie intact to protect their psyche — protest so loudly.

So really, the abortion industry and lies have to go hand in hand. Abortion is a business to preserve youthful convenience, and the lies are the cocktail of sedatives and painkillers to ease the guilt.

“And Planned Parenthood is the chief liar,” Szoch said on the podcast. “They specialize in it. You know, they have so many things that they say that … are just straight up lies. Any time we can combat that, it’s a win for life.”
