Border Disorder: Biden Sells Wall Materials as GOP Governors Back Trump’s Deportation Plan

December 17, 2024

After four years of border wall materials collecting dust at the southern border, President Joe Biden has finally decided to auction it all off. Initially, the starting price was just $5 for wall panel sections. According to an exclusive comment made to The Daily Wire from an anonymous border patrol agent, “The goal is to move all of it off the border before Christmas.” DW described this move from the Biden administration as “an apparent effort to hinder President-elect Donald Trump’s effort to secure the border” in his second term.

At the request of the Biden administration, DP Trucking LLC is the company transporting “roughly half a mile of border wall per day” to the auction site. The materials themselves, which an agent said were “still totally good and usable,” are being auctioned off through a website called GovPlanet.

During the 2024 presidential race, Trump repeatedly emphasized his plan if elected was to continue building the border wall he started during his first presidency. But as DW added, “If the material brought to the border during his first term is sold off, it will significantly delay any progress on one of Trump’s flagship campaign promises at the border.” Additionally, the 2024 election outcome proved that the vast majority of Americans support Trump’s border policies — including his plan to conduct a mass deportation. Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) stated, “The American people gave President Trump a mandate in November, which included the fulfillment of his plans to secure the border.”

According to Crane, “Any last-ditch attempt to obstruct this mandate by the Biden administration would be a direct affront to the will of the people.” He continued, “The Biden administration is well aware they shouldn’t have reversed the construction of the border wall. If it’s true, they’re purposefully hamstringing an incoming president, it wouldn’t be shocking. Why would they want to see President Trump succeed with policies they aggressively sabotaged?”

But it’s not just Crane who feels this way. Even patrol agents find themselves in agreement. One put it this way: “When Trump comes back, and he wants to start the border wall all over again, the whole entire funding fight is gonna happen again. That’s their play. He’s gonna have to fight for this — again.” Trump also gave his thoughts on the whole ordeal. “It is CRAZY,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social last week. “Joe Biden keeps talking about a smooth transition and unified government, and yet he races to sell desperately needed border wall for pennies on the dollar. It will cost the U.S. a fortune, and time, to get the exact same wall to replace what has been sold, and the new wall will cost triple the price. … [This] must be stopped.”

But Trump wasn’t done with his criticism. “It’s almost a criminal act,” he told reporters on Monday. “They know we’re going to use it, and if we don’t have it, we’re going to have to rebuild it, and it’ll cost double what it cost years ago, and that’s hundreds of millions of dollars, because you’re talking about a lot of wall.” According to Trump, the Biden administration is “trying to stop our nation” from having a secure border. Trump called on Biden to stop selling the border wall materials. And according to Bloomberg, the president-elect has even considered taking legal action against Biden and his administration.

But in response to all the border chaos, GOP governors are rallying behind Trump. Specifically, as it relates to his plan to conduct a mass deportation, “Republican governors, led by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R), have sent a letter to Trump this week vowing to support the federal government in its plans to deport millions of illegal aliens,” Breitbart reported. The letter read:

“Republican governors remain fully committed to supporting the Trump Administration’s efforts to deport dangerous criminals, gang members, and terrorists who are in this country illegally. We understand the direct threat these criminal illegal immigrants pose to public safety and our national security, and we will do everything in our power to assist in removing them from our communities. Together, we will continue to defend the American people, uphold the rule of law, and ensure our nation remains safe and secure for future generations. We stand ready to utilize every tool at our disposal — whether through state law enforcement or the National Guard — to support President Trump in this vital mission.”

They added in a statement, “As Republican governors, we stand united in support of President Donald Trump’s unwavering commitment to make America safe again by addressing the illegal immigration crisis and deporting illegal immigrants who pose a threat to our communities and national security.” The letter concluded, “The time for action is now. Together, we will make America safe again.”
