New COVID Origins Emails Continue to Undermine Fauci, Biden Admin Narrative

On Sunday, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released emails between Biden administration officials and outside scientists in early 2020 indicating that Dr. Anthony Fauci “prompted” a scientific paper to be released that contested the Wuhan lab leak theory. The news is the latest in an ongoing saga of reports that undermine key aspects of the Biden administration and Fauci’s COVID pandemic narrative, which posits that the virus originated in nature and that natural immunity is not effective against the virus, among other highly contested claims.

The news comes as an increasing number of government agencies release statements postulating that the virus was leaked from a lab in Wuhan. Last week, FBI Director Christopher Wray publicly announced the bureau’s theory on the origins of the virus for the first time, saying that the agency “has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan.” This followed the news that the Department of Energy’s highly respected and largely classified “Z Division” has also concluded that the virus likely originated from a lab leak.

Fauci, who stepped down from his position as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) last year, has been under a cloud of suspicion over a series of claims about the virus that he made during and after the pandemic that have subsequently proven to be false or misleading.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who currently serves as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, gave a rundown of Fauci’s uncovered emails with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday.

“On January 31 [at] 10:32 P.M., 2020 — right at the get go — Dr. Fauci gets an email from Dr. Kristian Andersen which says, ‘Virus looks engineered… virus not consistent with evolutionary theory.’ The next day he gets an email from Dr. [Bob] Garry, [which says] ‘I don’t know how this happens in nature. It would be easy to do in a lab.’ That same day, February 1, 2020 … Dr. Fauci organizes a conference call. Him and Dr. [Francis] Collins [then-director of the National Institutes of Health] get on there with Dr. Garry, Dr. Andersen, and all these other virologists. And three days later, everybody changes their story. The same guy who said this would be ‘easy’ to do in a lab says, ‘Now you’re crazy if you think it came from a lab.’ The same guy that said ‘this looks engineered,’ he changes his story. And then the kicker is, three months later, those same two doctors, Dr Andersen and Dr. Garry, get a several million-dollar grant from Dr. Fauci to continue their research.”

Jordan continued, “So the fundamental question is, why was Dr. Fauci so consumed with making sure the narrative wasn’t about the lab? I think it’s because they were doing gain-of-function research there. He didn’t want that out, and that was the narrative that everyone on the Left bought into — even though the facts and common sense, maybe most importantly, pointed to the lab leak theory.”

Gain-of-function research refers to research where an “organism gains a new property or an existing property is altered” through scientific experimentation. This research is highly controversial due to the dangers it can pose to human beings, which could potentially make viruses more infectious than they naturally would be.

Jordan went on to list a litany of false and misleading information about COVID that the government, aided by the mainstream media, relayed to the public.

“With this virus, [the Left] has told us all kinds of things that have turned out to be false. They told us it didn’t come from a lab … they said it wasn’t gain-of function research (it sure looks like it was), they said it wasn’t our tax dollars used at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (yes they were through EcoHealth), and then, of course, they told us that the vaccinated couldn’t get [COVID], the vaccinated couldn’t transmit it, they told us there was no such thing as natural immunity… So time and time again they told us things that were not accurate.”

Jordan further emphasized that the American people can handle — and deserve — the truth about the pandemic, which killed over one million Americans.

“The fundamental question is: why? Was it politics motivating them or what? I always say, ‘We’re Americans, We’re big boys and girls. We can handle it. It’s supposed to be a government of the people, by the people, for the people, so tell we the people the truth. Quit lying to us.’”
