Trump’s Department of Education Declares June ‘Title IX Month’

June 4, 2025

As June begins, the cultural landscape is shifting dramatically. Over the past few years, public sentiment has grown increasingly skeptical of LGBT ideology. Despite LGBT activists dubbing June “Pride Month,” many figures and entities are choosing not merely to push back, but to rebrand. Look no further than the Department of Education.

In a significant move, the Trump Department of Education has designated June as “Title IX Month” in an effort to protect women’s sports and spaces. On June 1, Education Secretary Linda McMahon unveiled the policy, emphasizing a comprehensive rollback of Biden-era Title IX expansions that permitted transgender-identifying — otherwise known as biological male — students access to female-only facilities.

“The Department is recognizing June as ‘Title IX Month’ to honor women’s hard-earned civil rights and demonstrate the Trump Administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring them to the fullest extent of the law,” McMahon said. “This Administration will fight on every front to protect women’s and girls’ sports, intimate spaces, dormitories and living quarters, and fraternal and panhellenic organizations.”

The initiative reflects a broader effort to address concerns from parents, educators, and advocacy groups who argue that the previous administration’s policies undermined the safety and fairness of female spaces and athletics. DOE has outlined plans to strengthen enforcement of Title IX’s original intent, ensuring that schools and universities adhere to regulations prioritizing biological sex over gender identity. This includes reviewing compliance at institutions receiving federal funding and issuing updated guidance to clarify protections for female students. McMahon also highlighted the Department’s intent to support legal challenges against policies that blur sex-based boundaries.

Beyond the Department’s actions, Illinois Congresswoman Mary Miller (R) is also pushing a national resolution to declare June “Family Month.” Her goal is to go far beyond her state to help promote a shift toward — or rather, a return to — traditional values across the country.

“The American family is under relentless attack from a radical leftist agenda that seeks to erase truth, redefine marriage, and confuse our children,” Miller shared with The Daily Wire. “By recognizing June as Family Month, we reject the lie of ‘Pride’ and instead honor God’s timeless and perfect design. If we truly want to restore our nation, we must stand united to protect and uphold the foundation upon which it was built — the family.”

The DOE’s announcement, paired with Miller’s resolution, comes at a critical time when cultural shifts have sparked widespread debate about the family unit and its role in society. Especially with this second go-around with the Trump administration, we’re seeing far more Americans wake up to not only the importance of traditional values, but also waking up to just how destructive progressive ideologies are.

For too long, the “if it doesn’t affect me, I’m fine with it” mentality has enabled the unchecked spread of ideologies that clash with biological reality and traditional values. This passivity has fueled societal drift. Yet, as Romans 8:28 assures, God works all things for the good of those who love Him. The pervasive influence of LGBT ideology serves as a stark reminder of what happens when voices of truth remain silent, failing to uphold the created order and the beauty of God’s design.

The world, steeped in sin, will always promote its own agenda. But Christians, in particular, are called to confront these lies with unwavering truth. The month of June in years past has shown the cost of complacency — rainbow-clad corporations and cultural capitulation. Yet, this year’s pushback from sports teams, businesses, lawmakers, and countless Americans proves that standing firm can — and often does — spark real change.

The fight is far from over, but the tide has turned. As more awaken to the power of their convictions, this movement, by God’s grace, has the ability to reshape the cultural landscape, grounding it in God’s truth and His great purpose. Let us pray for courage to sustain this momentum, to continue standing firm, and to keep trusting and knowing that God’s design will prevail against the chaos of this fallen world.

He calls us to act — so pray more people stand up, speak out, and say, “No more.” Change is happening, but it’s not enough. It won’t be enough until God’s word pierces the hearts of those pushing these agendas, until our children are shielded from transgenderism and other LGBT ideologies, until marriages are upheld as between one man and one woman, and until rainbow parades and sexual ideologies find no place in a sane moral society.
