Kamala Harris a ‘Clear Moral Voice’ on Abortion: Harris Adviser

October 11, 2024

A leading Democratic legislator and adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris said she breaks from President Joe Biden in one important regard: She provides a “clear moral voice” on abortion.

On ABC’s “The View” Tuesday, the incumbent vice president struggled to differentiate herself from the first half of the hyphenated Biden-Harris administration. “We’re obviously two different people, and we have a lot of shared life experiences,” Harris offered. But when asked what she would do differently on policy, which has led to record-breaking levels of inflation and illegal border crossings, Harris replied, “There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of [policy], and I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact on the work that we have done.”

Former President Donald Trump posted on social media that Harris admitted “she would have done nothing different than Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES,” calling her response her “dumbest answer so far!”

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), a member of the Harris-Walz Advisory Board, rushed to her rescue later that day on “CNN NewsNight.”

“On one of the most important issues of our time — abortion rights, reproductive rights — she is different” than Joe Biden, Khanna claimed. “She’s clearer.” “She’s more passionate. She doesn’t have to say it. It’s obvious. This is why the race is neck-and-neck. Women are supporting her much more than they supported Joe Biden.” Regardless of whether she “flubbed” an answer out of “loyalty” to the sitting president, whom Harris pushed aside without a vote, “the point is, everyone knows that she is a clear moral voice on an issue that really matters.”

He also noted “she’s visited a reproductive health clinic.” In March, Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), who is now her vice presidential running mate, toured the St. Paul Health Center, Vandalia, an enormous Planned Parenthood abortion complex.

Pro-life advocates say the life issue is the defining moral issue of this campaign — and Harris and Walz are on the wrong side.

“From the moment she ascended to the top of the Democratic ticket, Kamala Harris has flip-flopped on nearly every position she previously held. While protesting that “my values have not changed,” Harris has shifted her views on everything from fracking to immigration. However, there is one issue on which the vice president has not shifted: abortion. In fact, since becoming the Democratic nominee, Harris has doubled down on her support for abortion, making it the defining issue of her campaign. On no other issue is Harris more passionate and earnest than in her defense of abortion,” David Closson, director of the Center for Biblical Worldview at the Family Research Council, told The Washington Stand. “It is a tragic commentary on the state of American politics when one candidate has tied their political future to expanding abortion, and yet that is where we are in the 2024 campaign.”

“My hope is that as Christians prepare to cast their ballots, they will take the vice president at her word and understand that if she is elected president, Kamala Harris will be the most energetic supporter of abortion that this nation has ever seen,” Closson concluded.
