Deborah Laker serves as a staff writer at The Washington Stand. She enjoys reporting on national and international current affairs from a Christian worldview. Born and raised in Uganda, Deborah was the first person in her family to relocate to America for her undergraduate studies. She graduated from Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor of Science in Convergence Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. During her time at Oral Roberts, she led a mock government competition, worked in the university’s public relations team, and served as a residence hall chaplain. In her spare time, Deborah enjoys cooking vegetarian meals, journaling, and taking care of her plants.
